Blog Entry #5- Fear the Fork!

Hello fellow bloggers!

Alright, so after reading The Arizona Republic's article about ASU offering shorter classes, it made me really excited but also a little skeptical about it. There's a bunch of things to consider both good and bad.
By instilling a shorter 7 1/2 week course over the traditional 15-week course, this would benefit those adults that have a busier lifestyle and creating more flexibility in their schedules and according to the article even make tuition a little less costly and who doesn't want cheaper tuition, right? Not only that, but these students would be able to graduate earlier as well.
This would be great, but aside from shorter class length in the semester, and lower tuition costs, what about the amount of time needed to go over certain academics more thoroughly than others?
Not everyone is alike in their learning habits and other subjects may need more class time to cover than others.
I know that certain subjects are tougher for me to grasp right away than others and that can cause some frustration for most people.
These changes would not benefit everyone, but it could certainly help a lot of people just as well. Nonetheless, the option is great to have, but it just depends on the individual in the long run.
